The ComUnica (Comunicazione unica) single declaration is the central procedure that has been in place in Italy since 2010, enabling sole traders and companies to submit all important declarations to the relevant authorities in a single step. This includes the establishment of a company, changes to company data and the termination of business activities.
Instead of multiple individual applications, the information is automatically transmitted to the commercial register, the Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate), the INPS (National Social Security Institute), the INAIL (Accident Insurance Institution) and, depending on the activity, to craft offices and municipalities.
Submissions are made exclusively electronically, with a digital signature and a certified email address (PEC).
As ComUnica informs several authorities at the same time, the procedure serves in particular to simplify the bureaucratic effort and ensures a uniform, efficient reporting procedure. In practice, ComUnica is usually handled by a notary or the responsible tax advisor.
